• Having a proper knowledge about your traveling destination is one of the most important factors if you want to travel safely. Surf on internet or read from magazine about the place you are planning to travel.
• If you are not in sudden trip try to book your room in hotel. You can get detailed knowledge about hotels from internet and book your room from there only. So that you don’t have to search for a room when you drop in to some place.
• Keep your door closed whenever you are inside room or in bathroom. Don’t forget to lock your room whenever going for sightseeing. Make sure to confirm through the peephole to check who is at the door.
• Always keep a road map of the area. So that you never lost your path when traveling by car or walking in the lanes.
• Be alert and avoid dark and shadowy place to avoid any mishappening like sudden attack or robbery.
• Always travel with less valuable items.
• Keep yourself connected with your family members and friends through numbers in your emergency calling numbers.
• Make 4-5 copies of all your paperwork such as passport photo page, plane tickets, driver's license, travelers check receipts to visas. So, that you can leave 1 copy at home this can be FAXed, and the other copies within your luggage. Carry a photo copy of your birth certificate it can help you in getting a new passport en route.
• Make group of your money, extra passport pictures, passport copy, credit cards, extra keys and other essential documents in a small pouch which can be easily worn under your clothing in a secure way. Always keep this pouch in the front of you so that it is always under your scrutiny.
• Keep a waist bag for your camera, or a backpack which can be easily accessed without taking it off to get your other photo equipments. Keep this bag locked too.
• Remember to maintain a diary with all the addresses and phone numbers of your friends and family so that you can use them if you miss or lost your phone.
